What's the problem?
More than 80% of young piano learners are Chinese,
Yet, 67% of learners will likely quit before the 8th level.
Why is this problem?
“Rhythm is the pulse of music, the foundation and motivation of music.
Music presents its life and existence through rhythm.”
-John Dewey
In China,
teachers only let the children feel the rhythm through
repeated practice and slapping their hands,
which is noneffective.
How might we?
How might we let children learn and master rhythm changes intuitively through a playful method?
is my solution
Beathoven is designed to provide children learning piano with an intuitive way to practice rhythm, which is a conceptual music somatosensory game based on The Orff Schulwerk. Players can perceive rhythm through body movements, and exercise rhythm awareness during the gradual play.
What does it do?
The Orff Schulwerk combines music, movement, drama, and speech into lessons similar to a child's world of play.
It was developed by the German composer Carl Orff (1895–1982) and his colleague Gunild Keetman during the 1920s.
Under the game combined with multi-sensory stimulation, the sense of rhythm could be cultivated relatively stable and effectively as a profound neural coding.
